“I want us to tell more testimonies.” | The Ambush Group

A little over a year ago I got a call from a church in West Virginia. “Our pastor would like us to share more testimonial videos in our weekend services. We have a video team, but there doesn’t seem to be a lot of help available on HOW to tell stories in church.” So, I walked their team – via FaceTime – through the pre-interview process, then I flew up to West Virginia, conducted the interview and helped explain a process for editing the story.

I loved it, obviously. I’m a storyteller, and anytime ANYONE (especially in the local church) wants to talk shop or learn how to Tell Stories Better, I’m in. I’d fly every weekend.

What stood out to be was this statement, though: there doesn’t seem to be a lot of help available on HOW to tell stories in church. How do you find stories? How do you reach out to someone? How to you move from “Tell us your story,” to an actual interview? I’m glad you asked.

Earlier this year, my pals Chris Munch, Gary Hornstien and I developed, wrote and shot a masterclass-style, online workshop on how to tell stories in church.

It’s called The Story Guide.

We shot one testimonial, story of life change and then walk you through the process. It’s over 3 hours of teaching that takes you from finding the story to the final export. The Story Guide is live and in pre-launch mode. For a limited amount of time, you can hop on over to our site, sign up with your email and get 25%.

Our heart is to help you, in the local church, tell stories better. We hope it helps.

P.S. Also, I will fly to your church and help you personally, cause that’s just how much I love you. : )
